Bluebeard

John Carradine stars as Gaston, a successful nineteenth century artist and puppeteer in France's capital. Gaston, however, lives a secret life as Bluebeard, a demented serial killer who coldly strangles a series of beautiful young women who fail to meet his impossible standards. The lifeless bodies are discarded in the Parisian streets. All is concealed from the authorities until Lucille, Gaston's comely assistant, learns the awful truth and sears to bring him to his day of reckoning.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Dr. Henry Jekyll is working on separating the good and evil aspects from a person's persona and comes up with a potion that holds the key. Using himself as a guinea pig, Dr. Jekyll drinks his formula and is transformed into the evil Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde's actives are the scandal of the city and area major, though secret, embarrassment to the kindly Dr. Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll attempts to keep his connection to Mr. Hyde a secret, all the while he cannot put aside that aspect of his personality which he has released.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die

Dr. Bill Cortner and his fiancee, Jan Compton, are driving to his lab when they get into a horrible car accident. Compton is decapitated. Keeping Compton's head alive in his lab, Cortner plans the groundbreaking yet unorthodox surgery. First, however, he needs a body.

The Ape

Doctor Adrian is a researcher looking for a cure to polio that would benefit his young friend Frances Clifford, who suffers from the disease. His research centers upon the use of spinal fluid in a serum that could return mobility to sufferers of polio. The escape of a circus ape and the injury of its trainer provide an opportunity to test his procedure on Frances and it provides positive but limited results. Hoping to prove his research and cure his friend, Doctor Adrian sets out to use the ape as a means to provide the necessary spinal fluid for completing his research.

The Vampire Bat

When a small Bavarian village is beset with a string of mysterious deaths, the local burgermeister demands answers into the attacks. While the police detective refuses to believe the nonsense about vampires returning to the village, the local doctor treating the victims begins to suspect the truth behind the crimes. With more people falling victim to the attacks, the locals rally to try and hunt down the menace.

A vaudeville performer becomes the lab assistant to a research scientist experimenting on re-animating dead tissue. When the doctor is accidentally killed during one of his experiments, the assistant takes on the persona of the doctor and continues his work. The impostor does succeed in reviving the deceased doctor but then slowly falls into madness.

Dead Men Walk

George Zucco plays a dual role as the dysfunctional Clayton twins who also happen to be doctors. Predictably one twin is good, and the other is evil. Dr. Lloyd Clayton is forced to kill his brother Elwyn in self-defense. Elwyn, who happens to be well versed in the dark arts, returns from the grave to exact his revenge. Elwyn viciously slays Lloyd's colleagues, leaving a mounting trail of evidence that point to the surviving sibling.
